Women's Health Physiotherapy
Since being a youngster, Lara has been a lover of both sport and learning everything possible about the human body… the perfect ingredients to inspire a career in Physiotherapy. She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2016 and began working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Over time Lara developed a passion for treating women’s health conditions and tailored her training to this area; including completing the Professional Certificate in the Conservative Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse in 2022.
Lara cares for women throughout their whole life - from teenagers to our gorgeous more ‘senior’ ladies. Lara has a particular focus in treating conditions such as pelvic pain (vaginismus, vulvodynia, endometriosis, and painful sex), urinary incontinence and urgency, pregnancy care (pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor strengthening and birth preparation), postnatal care (pelvic floor assessment, abdominal separation, return to exercise) and pelvic organ prolapse treatment (including pessary fitting and management and prehab/rehab pre/post surgery).
Lara has completed The Polestar Studio Rehab Course and loves to integrate pilates style exercise into the rehabilitation of her patients.
Lara previously played netball at a national level, therefore knows the physical demands placed on athletes and is able to rehabilitate her patients back to very high levels of function. She particularly enjoys assessing and treating the pelvis, hip, knee and ankle injuries - for which she has first-hand experience of “what being the patient” feels like!
Outside work life, Lara keeps busy exploring new restaurants and attempting to recreate meals with varying degrees of success (and much kitchen mess). She is a coffee addict and loves running/pilates to stay fit. Her favourite exercise – teaser on the floor/trap table/reformer … love them all!
